Our search fortuitously led us to the much-loved Quality Chop House. As a former working men’s ‘eating house’ it has long-provided nourishment and respite and we believe it is the perfect address to share in our idea of genuine hospitality.
 

DINING ROOM

This 40-seater Grade II listed Victorian dining room provides the setting for our simple daily menu. The shared booths celebrate the meal as a communal act, welcoming families, friends and strangers to enjoy our fare shoulder-to-shoulder; the more hands the merrier to pass the peas.

Lunch will be comprised of a short selection of starters, mains and desserts while supper will be a 5-course set menu with wine pairings available. Each evening menu allows us to showcase what we truly love: it’s an event, an invitation to dinner, hosting in its truest sense. It’s a coat-off, take-a-seat and let-us-worryabout- the-rest affair. Courses will be based around sharing with the menu considering the whole beast, sustainable fish and seasonal vegetables from a team led by our head chef Shaun Searley. Reservations will be taken for lunch and dinner.
 

WINE BAR & SHOP

Next-door will be a wine bar with a mixture of bar-stool seating and individual tables. Food will be focused on a short list menu of small plates. A serious takeaway sandwich will be available for £5 every weekday. A 90-bin wine list will change every month. We are working with fine wine merchants, private collectors and independent importers to continually build a list of wines we appreciate and consider good value, ranging from £11 to £250 a bottle – all with a £5 drink-in mark up. Our wines by the glass will also include some rare and interesting bottles and will change weekly. All wines from the shop will be available to drink in, take away or have a glass with us and take the rest home.
 

UPSTAIRS

A late-Victorian dining room will provide a beautiful setting for our feasting menu, as well as options for wine tastings and meetings. Seats up to 10 guests.
